California Poppy Seeds

California Poppy (eschscholzia californica) is a wild poppy native to the west coast of the United States that has since naturalized elsewhere. It is a traditional medicinal herb and a popular garden flower for its bright orange flowers, blooming from late spring to early fall, as well as its attractive pale leaves resembling wormwood.

Growing Instructions: Sow directly in soil in late winter or early spring in an area with full sun. Direct sow, do not transplant seedlings or plants. Suitable for poor soil. California poppies are perennial for several years in warmer climates but are annual in colder climates and will need to be re-planted from seed every year. Not cold hardy. Not suitable for indoor container gardening.
