A simple tincture of locally foraged wild Blue Vervain herb extracted into grain alcohol and blended with local, unpasteurized honey. Blue Vervain is nervine, anti-spasmodic, analgesic, sedative, stimulant, antibacterial, astringent, diuretic, digestive, and expectorant. It can be used for nerve issues and nerve pain, lung congestion, coughs & colds, fever, menstrual cramps, dental health, and as a muscle relaxant.
It has been recommended since before the days of Culpepper for anxiety and people with frantic, frazzled energy. For anxiety we recommend pairing this elixir with our Henbane ointment. For nerve and muscle pain we recommend combining its use with one of our pain-relieving ointments like Balsam Poplar or Belladonna.
Seriously, this lovely wild plant covers all the bases and is something you definitely want in your home medicine cabinet or herbal first aid kit. It is a very bitter herb, which is why we've added honey to make it go down easier. You can also mix it with water or juice before ingesting.
Consult your clinical herbalist or naturopath before using to treat serious conditions or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
